New Delhi: Heavy security arrangements have been made as the Ganesh idols will be immersed in Hyderabad on Tuesday. CCTVs have been installed on the routes through which the procession of Ganesh idols will pass. This has been done so that the police can keep a close watch on every movement.
Hyderabad Police has also covered with cloth all the mosques on the routes through which the procession of Ganesh idols will pass so that no mischievous elements can vitiate the atmosphere. On some previous occasions, the procession had been deliberately stopped in front of mosques, DJ played loudly and an attempt made to instigate and provoke people of the other community. This had sparked tension and caused law and order problem.
This year, Ganesh Visarjan and Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi have fallen around the same time and this has posed a challenge for the police. Keeping this in mind, Hyderabad Police has covered the mosques with huge white clothes. The Muslim community in the city have also supported this move.
The Muslim community is celebrating Milad-un-nabi festival across the country on Monday but in Hyderabad, it will be marked on Thursday. The Muslim community of the city, and Muslim leader AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi decided that there should be no hindrance in Ganesh immersion. Hence, Milad-un-nabi festival will be celebrated in Hyderabad on Thursday. The city police is also keeping an eye on social media so that anti-social elements don’t try to create disharmony among the communities.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C V Anand conducted a video conference with all zonal DCPs, SHOs, and the patrol and Blue Colts staff. During the meeting, he spelt out the challenges before the law enforcement agencies and stressed on key factors that need to be considered while preparing security plans.
The top cops have inspected the immersion routes and taken stock of the safety and security measures so that the Ganesh idol immersion goes off smoothly.
