Monsoon Rains News LIVE Update: Several states across the country, including Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh are likely to witness heavy rainfall for the next four days, the India Meteorological Department has predicted. The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall in northwest, central and east India during the next three to four days. It has also said that rainfall will continue along west coast during the next five days. India is expected to receive above-normal rainfall in August and September, with a 106 per cent chance of the long-period average, according to the IMD. While most parts of the country will receive normal to above-normal rainfall, some areas will experience below-normal rainfall. The monsoon season has already seen a 2 per cent surplus in rainfall since June 1.
