Mercedes Benz has silently updated the S-Class which is their flagship sedan. The diesel variant of the vehicle remains the same with no major updates but there has been significant updates to the petrol and Maybach S580 variant. The updates include a couple of feature additions and new colour and interior trim options.
Lets start with the S450 first. It has received three new airbags. There are new airbags in the rear passenger seatbelts and a new centre airbag in between the front passenger seats as well. It also gets Mercedes’s new Energizing air purification package which also includes a air quality menu in the MBUX display.
There are new colour options as well. You can now get the Emerald Green metallic with Sienna Brown/Black interior and Manufaktur Rubellite Red Metallic with Macchiato Beige/Magma Grey interior. This has increased the price of the S450 by Rs 1.45 lakh and it now starts from Rs 1.88 crore (ex-showroom).
The S580 also receives some updates and the biggest one is the addition of rear-wheel-steering on the luxury barge. It can turn up tro 10-degrees in the same direction as the front wheels for better high speed stability or opposite to aid in better turning circle at slower speeds. Mercedes has also added a front centre airbag for the front passengers.
The S580 also gets some colour updates and you can now option Manufaktur Rubellite Red Metallix paired to Macchiato Beige/Magma Grey interior. All this has increased the price of the Maybach S580 by Rs 2.05 lakh and it now starts at Rs 2.74 crore (ex-showroom).
