New Delhi: Utsav Dixit, a 33-year-old stand-comedian from Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, was arrested under significant charges. The comedian was booked on November 3, 2024, after allegedly crashing his Porsche into a fence surrounding KBR Park. As per reports, the incident took place on November 2, with significant damage to the boundary walls grills, and roads around the area.
According to the city police, the crash reportedly happened due to reckless driving. The comedian reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to rash driving. Here is what happened.
Utsav Dixit’s car crash – what happened?
The car in question was a red Porsche belonging to Utsav Dixit. Assistant Commissioner S Venkat Reddy stated the authorities were alerted about the incident at 5:45 AM by a citizen. Upon arrival, the police reportedly discovered a Porsche with a completely damaged front end and a missing number plate. So, how did the police find the accused? Well, there was a broken number plate inside the car, and the police used the registration number to trace the car back to Utsav Dixit.
Reportedly, Utsav Dixit fled the scene but was soon arrested after the police tracked the vehicle to him. The comedian has since gone through alcohol and drug tests, and the results are still pending. Apart from this, the authorities have seized Utsav Dixit’s driver’s license, and have forwarded it to the RTO (Road Transport Officer) for the possibility of disqualification under Section 19 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Following this, Utsav Dixit will be facing multiple charges – section 110, section 184, 281 and section 3. The police have confirmed that the legal actions against the comedian, for property damage, dangerous driving and attempt to commit homicide, are already in progress. With the rise of supercars in Hyderabad, this incident highlights the potential dangers of crashes at the hands of rash drivers.
