Meerut: In dramatic scenes reported from Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh, a groom managed to catch a thief who stole his cash garland. The entire sequence of event was captured on camera. The incident took place in Dungarwali village in Meerut on Saturday. The thief had stolen groom’s Rs 50 cash garland during pre-wedding ceremony.
meerut groom The video of the incident shows the groom climbing a pick-up truck in a ‘James Bond’ and ducked inside cabin through the window to catch the thief, said a repot in Times of India.

Cash garland snatched during pre-wedding rituals
The groom has been identified as Dev Kumar. As the prospective groom was moving towards the temple, the thief snatched the garland from Dev’s nephew and ran away in a mini-truck.
As Dev saw the thief fleeing in a mini-truck, he hopped on to a passing motorcycle and finally got on to the vehicle. The incident unfolded on Delhi-Dehradun highway.
Dev told the driver to stop and got hold of the accused with the help of other locals. He then got his cash garland back.
Thief let go without any charge
The thief was let go without his family informing police. Meanwhile, netizens have given mixed reactions over the incident some calling it daring, while other terming the move risky.
