New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) gained an early lead in the long-pending MCD ward committee election on Wednesday with six of its councillors elected unopposed in the House.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi ward committee elections began at the agency headquarters with heavy security measures in place. The long-awaited elections are being held for the first time since the unification of the MCD in 2022. Political deadlock between the ruling AAP and the opposition BJP had previously delayed the polls, resulting in the matter becoming sub-judice.

Deputy Chairmain – Kiran Bala
One member of the standing committee from ward committee – Puardeep Singh Sawhney (74) AAP

Rakesh Joshi – Chairman
Jyoti Gautam- Deputy Chairman
