New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his friend after a spat over Rs 400 for liquor. The incident occurred in Shahdara district’s Anand Vihar area in Delhi. The accused has been identified as Ankit and the deceased, Nirala.
As the argument over money for liquor turned ugly, Ankit attacked Nirala with a brick and hit him hard. After committing the crime, Ankit checked himself into a de-addiction centre to avoid being suspected by the cops. But the police nabbed him after checking over 150 CCTV footage, and other evidence. During being grilled, Ankit confessed to the crime, the Delhi police said.
The Anand Vihar police of the Shahdara district claimed to have solved the “blind murder case” within 48 hours by arresting the accused, Ankit, after a series of probe.
It was revealed that while the argument ensued, Ankit hurled a brick at Nirala and left him bleeding. Nirala died after some time due to lack of medical attention. Ankit admitted himself into a de-addiction center to evade coming under police scanner.
The Delhi police conducted a number of investigations to identify the accused Ankit. When he was questioned, Ankit confessed that he used the stolen money to buy more alcohol.
On October 15 in Vikaspuri, a man named Sanjay was stabbed to death. In the prima-facie probe, the cops suspected that Sanjay and his friend Manish got into an argument with some locals. During the argument, Sanjay was thrashed and stabbed, while Manish was able to flee from the site.
In June this year, a man and his three aides were arrested for bludgeoning his nephew to death with a brick in Sarsini village in Lalru near Mohali. After the victim’s father lodged a complaint, the police registered a case under Sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code at the Lalru police station.
