Kulgam: A man died after a massive cloudburst swept through hits Damhal Hanjipora area of Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. One person was also injured in the incident.
A rescue operation was mounted soon after the heavy gush of water swept through Damhal Hanjipora area, said an official.
The official said that one person has died and another suffered injuries. Police and other civil defence personnel are on the alert. The deceased was identified as Mukhtar Chouhan, a residence of Bangward Bala. Rafakat Ahmad Chouhan also from Bangward Bala was injured in the incident.
Following the cloudburst incident, a team was to the spot and further details are being collected, said Zahid Ahmad, Tehsildar Damhal Hanjipora.
