Begusarai: A major accident was narrowly averted in Bihar on Thursday when Vaishali Express train passed over a broken railway track between Danauli Phulwaria and Lakho stations in the Begusarai-Khagaria rail section. Fortunately, no accidents took place.
Upon receiving the information about the broken track, the railway authorities promptly suspended train operations on this route leading to a disruption in its operation for nearly half an hour.
How railway officials averted accident
According to railway officials, after Vaishali Express passed, Tinsukia-Rajendranagar Express train, which was also on the same track, was stopped using a red flag.
The broken track led to delays and several trains, including the Rajyarani Express, were halted at various stations. The track was found cracked near kilometre mark, close to railway gate number 41.
Once the damaged track was repaired by the railway authorities, normal train operations resumed.
Conspiracy to overturn train averted in UP’s Rae Bareli
Earlier this morning, a case of conspiracy to overturn a train came to light in Uttar Pradesh. A goods train collided with a cemented sleeper in Rae Bareli. However, no major accident took place.
It is suspected that three sleepers kept in the field were pulled and brought on the track. Investigation is underway on the matter.
After this accident, the goods train stood still for 15 minutes.
