New Delhi: Amid the protests over the Delhi Government’s Mahila Samman Yojana, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Friday ordered a probe into the matter. He has appointed a Divisional Commissioner to find out on what basis the registration of the scheme is being done

All Divisional Commissioners in Delhi have been asked to submit a report in this regard. Earlier, the AAP Government in Delhi had claimed that about 21 lakh people have registered themselves under the Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana.
BJP Mahila Morcha staged a protest march on Thursday
Earlier on Thursday, members of the BJP Mahila Morcha staged a protest near AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal’s residence, accusing him of “cheating” the women of Delhi. The Delhi Government had earlier announced the scheme for a monthly payment of Rs 1,000 in its budget for 2024-25. Recently Kejriwal also said the amount would be raised to Rs 2,100 if the AAP returns to power in Delhi.
AAP collecting Aadhaar numbers in the guise of the scheme: BJP
The BJP Mahila Morcha members marched from Ashoka Road to Kejriwal residence. However, after they were stopped by the police, some of the protesters climbed on police barricades and shouted slogans against Kejriwal. “”Under the guise of the Mahila Samman scheme, the AAP is organising camps to collect Aadhaar numbers, voter IDs and phone numbers, which is part of a larger scam,” the party alleged.
