Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced the first list of 99 candidates for Maharashtra Assembly polls on Sunday. There are 288 seats in the Maharashtra state Assembly. There are 13 women among the candidates who were given tickets. The party has has fielded state Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis from Nagpur South-West.
Apart from Fadnavis, Chandrashekhar Bhawankule has been fielded from Kamathi and Vijay Kumar Gavit from Nandurbar have been given tickets to contest from Nadurbar. Among other candidates, the party has fielded Anoop Agarwal from Dhule, Mangal Prabhat Lodha from Malabar Hills. Rahul Narvekar, from Kolaba, Nitesh Rane from Kankavali, Ashish Shelar from Bandra West, Ram Kadam from Ghatkopar West and Chandrakant Dada Patil has been fielded from Kothrud constituency.
