Mumbai: A shocking incident has emerged from Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra wherein a fisherman was murdered and his boat set on fire. The murder reportedly took place after an argument between fisherman.
Following an altercation, a brawl took place including physical assault that led to the death of a fishermen. The deceased has been identified as Tandel Ravindra Natekar .
Boat crew allegedly kills sailor
It is alleged that the boat crew member killed Tandel and then set on fire the boat after dousing it with diesel. The incident reportedly took place on October 28 deep in the sea near Kunkeshwar, off Devgarh in Sindhudurg.
The nearby boats tried to save the sailor, but the victim died by the time rescue was mounted. The boat worth over 1 crore was also completely gutted in the alleged criminal incident. The suspect identified as Jaiprakash Vishwakarma has been arrested.
Murder after brawl in deep sea
According to the police, a boat belonging to one Numan Rafiq from Rajivwada area of Ratnagiri district was in the sea for fishing. A fight broke out deep in the sea between Jayprakash Vishwakarma and Tandel Ravindra Natekar which led to Tandel’s killing. The accused later set the boat ablaze.
