Dhule: In a shocking incident, three child lost their lives and five others were injured after they were run over by a tractor in Chittor village near Dhule city of Maharashtra. The villagers were going for Ganesh immersion in the same tractor, the police said.
Sharing further details, the police said that the incident happened when people going for the immersion, were dancing in front of the tractor. The police have taken the accused tractor driver in custody and is getting him medically examined. According to preliminary information,
the tractor driver was drunk and due to this, he lost control.
Five people who lost their lives have been identified
Among those who have lost their lives in the incident have been identified as Pari Shantaram Bagul (13), Shera Bapu Sonavane (6) and Laddu Pawara (3). The injured have been identified as Gayatri Nikam Pawar (25), Vidya Bhagwan Jadhav (27), Ajay Ramesh Somvanshi (23), Ujjwala Chandu Malche (23), Lalita Pintu More (16) and Riya Durgesh Sonawane (17) were injured after being hit by the tractor.
Earlier in July, as many as four people lost their lives after an accident on Lucknow-Agra Expressway. According to the police, all those who lost their lives were from Bihar’s Siwan district. They were from Vishnupura village of the district. Reports said that while two people died on the spot, the other two died during treatment. The bodies were later sent to their village in Vishnupura.
One person died in Delhi
As per the police, one person had died in Delhi, after which villagers hired a truck for further rituals. There were ten people in the truck. It was during this journey that the truck collided with another vehicle. Thr driver of the truck and one of the passengers sitting next to him died on the spot.
