New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has set up a 24X7 control room to ensure seamless services to pilgrim at Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj district of UP. Mahakumbh is starting from January 13. UPSRTC said it is committed to ensure convenient and efficient transport services for devotees attending Mahakumbh in the sacred city.
Beginning with the main bathing (snan) starting from January 13, UPSRTC will operate electric buses to facilitate the smooth movement of devotees. Mahakumbh is being held after 144 years.
UPSRTC to deploy over 7,000 buses
“To manage the heavy influx of pilgrims, UPSRTC will deploy 7,000 rural buses and 350 shuttle buses within the Mahakumbh area. Additionally, during the primary bathing days, buses arriving from districts adjoining Prayagraj will be operated from eight temporary bus stations set up in the outer fair area to streamline crowd management and ensure smooth transit,” UPSRTC said in a statement.
With extensive preparations in place to ensure safety and convenience of pilgrims, crores of devotees are expected to attend the Mahakumbh Mela.
Fully operational command centre by UPSRTC
“The UPSRTC has said it has set up fully operational command and control center to provide real-time information and assistance to the devotees.
“In case of any issues involving buses operating during the Mahakumbh Mela, 24×7 support will be available from the headquarters to assist drivers, conductors, and passengers. Instructions have been issued to maintain regular communication with the Control Room at Jhunsi, Prayagraj to ensure updates are provided to higher management every two hours,” the statement further added.
