Pryagraj: With Prayagraj Mahakumbh just days away, the Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to launch an online e-rikshaw and e-auto booking portal from December 15. This year, the focus will be on promoting green Mahakumbh.
Stating the same, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s office said that the step taken by the government was to ensure safe, smooth, and convenient travel for devotees attending the Mela from January 13 to February 26 next year. The Mahakumbh Mela is expected to attract 45 crore devotees from across the country and abroad.

The system will be similar to the services of Ola and Uber. The services of cabs will be provided at fixed charges at locations like airports, railway stands and hotels, and bus stands. Importantly, the move will also help in boosting state government’s Green Mahakumbh initiative to promote a cleaner and more sustainable environment. by women drivers.
Issuing a statement, the CMO said, “Over 7,000 roadway buses and 550 shuttle buses will operate, while the railways will run 3,000 trains, including about 1,000 additional ones.” Notably, the e-vehicle initiative is being spearheaded by Omfy E Mobility, a startup company.
The cab drivers have also been trained in Google Voice Assistance to avoid any kind of confusion due to different languages. According to the start-up, the goal of the initiative is to provide safe and environmentally friendly app-based vehicle services for devotees.
Authorities to deploy 20 advanced drones
Meanwhile, the CM has also asked authorities to deploy 20 advanced drones to make sure of proper security arrangements at the event. The deployed drones will not only help surveillance but will also help in capturing detailed activities. Also, as compared to 2019 Kumbh Mela, the next month’s Mahakumbh will be expanded by 800 hectares. The number of tents will also be increased to 1.8 lakhs, officials said.
