Prayagraj: The Maha Kumbh is being organised in Prayagraj at this time, leading to large crowds of people gathering. On Monday, a huge crowd of devotees gathered at the railway stations, and the situation got out of control.
As a result, the administration took action and, to prevent a stampede due to the crowd at the station, the police stopped people returning from the fair on the way. To control the situation, the entry of the public into the station has been stopped, and the station will remain closed until February 28.
Heatwave intensifies crowd chaos
Although it is February, the temperature has increased in many states, including Uttar Pradesh. People are fainting due to the heat amidst the crowd. Those returning from the fair were moving towards the station under the scorching sun and heat, while the police had already stopped people on the way due to the heavy crowd at the station. The crowd stopped on the roads is becoming uncontrollable. Lakhs of people have been stopped at Khusrobag, Leader Road and KP Inter College in Prayagraj.
People attending the Maha Kumbh, numbering in the lakhs, are present from the roads to the station premises. Children, elderly people, and women are also part of the crowd. Due to the crowd, many people are suffocating, and the heat is causing others to faint and fall unconscious.
Akhilesh Yadav questions Yogi
Videos of the crowd are being shared, and the railway administration is getting nervous due to the overwhelming number of people. It is proving difficult to control such a large crowd and the situation at the railway station remains very concerning. After the crowd gathered at the Maha Kumbh railway station, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav posted a video of some people and raised questions about CM Yogi. He wrote that the government and administration of Uttar Pradesh should listen to the bitter experiences and concerns of the devotees.
