Prayagraj: With just a few days left for the start of Maha Kumbh Mela, preparations are at the final stage in Prayagraj. A lot of dignitaries are expected to participate at the mega event including Lauren Powell, the wife of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. The Maha Kumbh Mela which will begin on January 13 will go on till February 26.
Apart from Lauren Powell other billionaire women expected to participate include Sudha Murthy and Savitri Jindal. BJP MP Hema Malini is also expected to attend the event. While a cottage has been prepared for Sudha Murthy near Ulta Qila, Savitri Devi Jindal will stay in the camps of Swami Avdheshanand and Chidanand Muni. Hema Malini will remain in the camp of Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshanand Giri Maharaj of Juna Akhara.
Lauren Powell to perform Kalpavas
Lauren will also observe Kalpavas during her nearly two-week visit. Importantly, Kalpavas is an ancient Hindu tradition, which promotes spiritual discipline as well as self-purification.
Also, during her Kalpavas, Lauren Powell will host a Katha Vachan (Storytelling) event. She will also try to understand Sanatan Dharma more closely. According to reports published in ‘The Times of India’, Lauren Powell will stay at the Niranjani Akhara Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashananda camp. During her stay, Lauren will perform rituals, including taking a dip in the Sangam. She will also participate in rich culture and traditions related to spirituality. She will be in India till January 29.
Lauren to take the first dip on Paun Purnima
Steve Jobs, a co-founder of Apple earned not only fame but also billions of dollars. After his death, his property was inherited by Lauren. Lauren Powell, the owner of property worth about 25 billion dollars, will arrive in India on January 13. She will take the first dip along with other VVIP women on Paun Purnima.
