Prayagraj: Days after 49 people were killed and several others were injured during the Mauni Amavasya holy bath, the administration is taking all possible measures to prevent such incidents in the future. Steps are being taken to further improve the health services at the Maha Kumbh Mela for Basant Panchami, which falls on February 2. With crores of devotees expected to visit the holy city of the day, authorities have deployed medical teams to take care of people whenever needed.
Officials have taken steps to ensure the medical team is ready on emergency calls, OPD, and emergency services for 24 hours. After the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, efforts are also being taken to improve medical facilities further since Saturday.
23 hospitals asked to take care of patients during Maha Kumbh
A total of 23 hospitals with 360 beds have also been asked to take care of patients during Maha Kmbh. A medical team has also been formed to take stock of preparations. The Maha Kumbh which started from January 15 will continue till February 26.
According to officials, the Central Hospital and other health facilities are playing an important role for pilgrims visiting Mah Kaumbh. They are taking care of all medical services, starting from minor injuries to serious treatments. Sharing more information, Dr Gaurav Dubey, Nodal Officer, said that the medical team reached the spot within minutes on emergency calls. Ambulances and health facilities are fully functional even in adverse conditions, he added.
116 envoys from 73 countries to take a holy bath tomorrow
A total of 116 envoys from 73 countries will take the holy dip at the Sangam in Prayagraj on Saturday. They will be given a grand welcome upon their arrival at the Arail Ghat. Notably, apart from other countries, envoys of both Russia and Ukraine will take part in the holy bath amid a war between both countries.
According to officials, the envoys will hoist their national flags after reaching the ghat. After this, they will enter and take the holy bath. After this, they will visit Hanuman Mandir, Akshayvat, and Saraswati Koop in Prayagraj. Envoys were invited during the 2019 Kumbh Mela too.
