New Delhi: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has rubbished several media reports claiming that railway stations in Prayagraj region have been closed to control the large number of devotees visiting the Maha Kumbh. On Monday, Vaishnaw said that all Maha Kumbh mela railway stations are operating smoothly and about 130 trains have already departed the stations today so far.
There were reports that authorities have closed stations in Prayagraj region till Friday as part of crowd managements steps in Maha Kumbh.
“Yesterday, 12.5 lakh pilgrims were facilitated and a record 330 trains departed from Prayagraj Mahakumbh area stations. Today, 130 trains have departed from the mela area so far. All Mahakumbh mela railway stations are operating smoothly,” Vaishnaw shared on X.
