Prayagraj: In a move to strengthen arrangements ahead of major gathering on Maghi Purnima at Maha Kumbh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a reviewed meet police and civic officials.
As per reports, CM Yogi has asked at least 50 top officials, including ATS chief Amitabh Yash to report at Maha Kumbh ahead of Maghi Purnima. All these officers including IAS, IPS and PPS officers have been shared their responsibilities and point of reporting on their personal mobile phones with directions of immediate reporting.
Yogi sends 50 police and administrative officers to Prayagraj
The officers who have been asked to reports in Prayagraj include, 4 SPs, 5 ASPs, 15 DSPs and 4 IAS and 25 PPS officers.
The authorities have also asked schools in Prayagraj and three other neighbouring districts – Varanasi, Ayodhya and Mirzapur- to remains closed from February 11 to 14. in view of large number of devotees visiting Maha Kumbh. Neighbouring districts of Prayagraj have been witnessing heavy traffic jams due as devotees have been using public and private vehicles to reach Prayagraj for Maha Kumbh.
Yogi Adityanath reviews arrangements for Maghi Purnima snan
During the meeting last night, Adityanath assessed the preparations and issued several guidelines to officials to ensure the smooth passage of the event.
“Over the past week, the influx of devotees into Prayagraj has increased significantly. Along with public transport, a large number of private vehicles are also arriving, and this number is expected to rise further on the bathing festival. In light of this, a well-structured traffic and crowd management plan must be implemented,” PTI quoted CM Adityanath.
Adityanath also directed officers to take strict actions against individuals and social media handles spreading misleading or false information. Ensure that accurate information is promptly communicated to the public to prevent any confusion or panic, he told the officers at the meeting.
There were several media reports claiming that major highways and roads leading to Prayagraj have been witnessing long traffic jams. Photos and videos shared by netizens show vehicles lined up on highways leading to Prayagraj.
