Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh will soon witness the construction of 10 lakh new houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The state’s Urban Development and Housing Department has issued instructions for the building of these houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2.0 scheme. The objective of this initiative is to provide affordable housing to families that have not yet benefited from the housing scheme due to various reasons.
These 10 lakh houses will primarily be allotted to the needy, with priority given to sanitation workers, families residing in slums, those associated with the PM Swanidhi Yojana, building construction workers, Anganwadi workers, and artisans from the PM Vishwakarma Yojana. These groups will be given special consideration to ensure they receive housing support under this initiative.
Rs 23,000 crore sanction for construction of these homes
