New Delhi: A government school teacher in Madhya Pradesh has been suspended after he took leave by falsely citing a student’s death who was found alive, authorities said on Wednesday.
Hiralal Patel, the accused, taught at a primary school in Chigrika Tola area of Mauganj district of Madhya Pradesh, news agency PTI reported.
He applied for leave on November 27 and mentioned the death of a class 3 student in the attendance register as the reason, claiming he was going to attend the funeral, the report said citing officials.
Upon learning about the teacher’s note, the student’s father filed a complaint with the district collector, emphasising that his son was alive and well. Mauganj Collector Ajay Shrivastava confirmed that the teacher, Patel, had been suspended and that an investigation has been launched in this connection.
