New Delhi: A wedding venue turned into a battleground as boys from Lucknow University hostel ran riot, engaged in a violent clash and hurled bombs during the party. Several people were injured in the incident.
It all happened at Ramadhin Marriage Lawn in the Hasanganj area, where a wedding procession from Kaiserbagh area had arrived. Around 11 pm, some boys from the Lucknow University hostel came to the venue uninvited, just to have food for free.
An altercation broke out after the girl’s side refused to let them in. According to eyewitnesses, the wedding guests were attacked by students after an exchange of words. Following the heated argument, the boys went back to the hostel, called other friends, and returned to the wedding venue. They created chaos and indulged in fighting. The boys were armed with sticks and rods, as they fought with the guests at the wedding. Bombs were also thrown outside the marriage lawn.
After receiving information, the police force from the central zone swung into action and immediately arrived at the scene. On seeing the cops, the students fled. The police rushed the injured to the hospital, where they are being treated, and legal proceedings are underway. Police has said that strict action will be taken against the accused.
Meanwhile, the video of the incident has gone viral on social media platforms. In the video, students can be seen throwing bombs at the venue. In another video, the police is seen taking stock of the situation. The video highlights the rowdy behaviour of the university students.
