New flyovers in Lucknow
The Indira Nagar Sector 25-Khurram Nagar-Kalyanpur Flyover, spanning three kilometres, was built at a cost of Rs 270 crore, while the Polytechnic-Munshi Pulia Chauraha Flyover, covering two kilometres, was completed with an investment of Rs 170 crore. These projects are expected to significantly reduce congestion and travel time in key areas of the city.
Beyond infrastructure, the Chief Minister highlighted Lucknow’s transformation into both an Aero City and an Artificial Intelligence (AI) City, positioning it as a modern urban hub with advancements in connectivity and technology.
During his speech, Yogi Adityanath credited Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for advancing Uttar Pradesh’s role in the defence sector, particularly through the BrahMos missile manufacturing project in Lucknow. This initiative aligns with the larger Defence Corridor plan, aimed at making the state a major defence manufacturing hub.
He also announced plans to connect the Yamuna and Purvanchal Expressways, enhancing transportation and positioning Lucknow as a crucial centre for logistics and trade.
The CM highlighted the Maha Kumbh’s cultural and economic impact, noting that over eight crore devotees participated in the Mauni Amavasya holy dip. Efficient management of the pilgrimage ensured smooth arrangements, and the event is projected to contribute Rs 3 lakh crore to Uttar Pradesh’s economy.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari emphasised infrastructure’s role in India’s USD 5 trillion economy goal. He detailed completed road projects worth Rs 1.25 lakh crore, ongoing construction worth Rs 1 lakh crore, and upcoming developments of another Rs 1 lakh crore.
As Lucknow accelerates its urban development, upcoming projects—including flood pumping stations, deep tube wells, and a musical and sports park in CG City—aim to enhance the city’s landscape. With continued investments and strategic initiatives, the state capital is set to become one of India’s most progressive cities in the coming years.
