New Delhi: Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha (LoP) Rahul Gandhi said that if his party forms the government, the (LPG) gas cylinder being sold currently at Rs 1,200 will be available at Rs 500 per cylinder. “The Rs 700 extra that you are paying will be put back into your pockets/bank accounts once we come to power.” Rahul Gandhi said this while addressing an election rally in Haryana’s Bahadurgarh on Tuesday.
“Haryana farmers are trying to sell their produce and the government is not buying it. Farmers in Haryana know that they don’t get the right price for their produce. The day we come to power, we will give Minimum Support Price to Haryana farmers,” the senior Congress leader said.

‘Drug menace spreading in Haryana’
He pointed out that everyone knows that the drug menace is spreading in Haryana…I ask Modi ji, when thousands of kilos of drugs were caught at Adani’s Mudra port, what action did you take? How many people did you put behind bars? No action has been taken despite such huge drugs haul.”
‘Nothing is left for us in Haryana’
Rahul Gandhi also said he visited a group of youths hailing from Haryana in the US while he was touring that country. “They told me we were forced to come here as nothing is left for us in Haryana,” Rahul Gandhi underlined. He said there’s inflation and unemployment and so these youths go to the US for greener pastures. He also described the ordeals and travails the Haryana youths face while trying to make it to the US. Rahul Gandhi said after returning from the US, he met the families of these youths in Karnal and offered them hope.
