New Delhi: A 19-year-old woman, known as “Lady Don” Annu Dhankar, has been apprehended near the Indo-Nepal border in Uttar Pradesh by the Delhi Police. Dhankar, a key associate of notorious gangster Himanshu Bhau, was wanted in connection with the brutal murder of a man at a Burger King outlet in Rajouri Garden, West Delhi.
The incident, which occurred on June 18th, saw three assailants arrive at the fast-food restaurant on a bike. While one remained outside, two entered the eatery and fired over 20 rounds at Aman, who was sitting with a woman inside, leaving him dead at the scene. The attack took place in broad daylight, with over 50 customers and 10 staff members present.
“Dhankar is a resident of Rohtak, Haryana, and she was involved in the murder of one Aman at Burger King restaurant,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Amit Kaushik told PTI.
Dhankar’s role in the crime was pivotal. She had reportedly befriended Aman on social media and lured him to the Burger King outlet, where he was killed. Dhankar was present at the scene, sitting with Aman at the time of the attack.
Investigation revealed that Dhankar informed Himanshu Bhau about Aman’s presence at Burger King, leading to the execution.
After the murder, Dhankar fled to Chandigarh, travelling through Amritsar and Katra before reaching Lakhimpur Kheri, where she was eventually apprehended.
During interrogation, Dhankar revealed that she was friends with both Himanshu Bhau and Sahil Ritolia, who promised to arrange visas and other documents to facilitate her immigration to the United States.
Dhankar’s involvement extends beyond the Burger King murder, as she is also linked to another incident of indiscriminate firing at Matu Ram Halwai Shop in Gohana.
She confessed to receiving money from Himanshu Bhau through money exchange shops.
Her arrest, made possible by a joint operation of the Delhi Police’s Special Cell and the Uttar Pradesh Police, marks a crucial blow to the gangster’s network, highlighting the police’s determination to dismantle criminal gangs and ensure public safety.
