KTM has unveiled the all new 1390 Super Adventure S Evo at EICMA 2024. This is more of a road-focused ADV which gets KTM’s new aggressive styling and design language. It gets a new engine, and even a new automatic transmission option. Here is everything you need to know.
The motorcycle is all new, it features a 1,350cc V-Twin engine which is directly from the Super Duke R and produces 173 bhp and 145 Nm of torque. It gets new variable valve timing which smoothens out the power curve throughout the rev range. It is paired to a new AMT transmission as well which is a automated manual transmission. It is somewhat similar to what we have seen in AMT cars and there is a mechanically actuated clutch and gear shifter mechanism and riders can control it via the switches placed on the handlebars.
The new frame is also stiffer than before to accommodate for the added power and gets semi-electronically adjustable WP suspension. Braking is handled by twin discs and Brembo brake calipers up front and it features 19 inch wheels up front and 17-inchers at the back with cast alloys.
KTM goes all out with technology and the new 1390 Super Adventure S Evo is no exception. It gets all the usual aids like dual channel ABS, traction control, riding modes, electronic stability program, traction control, cornering ABS and a bi-directional quickshifter. Additional nice to have features include adaptive cruise control, front collision warning and automatic emergency braking.
Since this is an automatic motorcycle and there the bike can change the gear itself according to its needs, it can also brake and come to a complete stop without any rider intervention. All these features can be controlled using the 8.8-inch vertically mounted screen and KTM says that it is the largest display ever fitted to a KTM.
The motorcycle will make its way into the international markets from 2025, as for India, the chances of it coming here are scarce. KTM is planning to launch some of its big bikes in the Indian market but we are not sure if this will make the cut as the customer base for such a bike is very niche.
