Kolkata: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday conducted a raid at the residence of Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
Sandip Ghosh is accused of financial irregularities in the hospital during his tenure. CBI has taken this action in a corruption case.

The raid comes after Akhtar Ali, the former deputy superintendent of RG Kar Hospital, made allegations against Ghosh. Ali revealed several instances of financial mismanagement and also implicated Dr Debashish Som, a demonstrator in forensic medicine and toxicology at the hospital.
The CBI’s anti-corruption branch has also reached Som’s residence as part of their ongoing investigation.
Akhtar Ali has accused Sandip Ghosh of financial mismanagement and corruption. According to Ali, Ghosh was involved in a range of illicit activities, including selling dead bodies, smuggling biomedical waste, and manipulating student grades for money.
