New Delhi: Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday announced its retention list ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. A total of six players were retained by the three-time IPL champions. The biggest surprise call for the franchise was to release their captain Shreyas Iyer despite winning the title last season after a span of 12 years.
Senior bowler Sunil Narine was the top retention for the franchise, meaning that he has now been retained for the fourth time in a row, extending his association with the Shah Rukh Khan co-owned team. Andre Russell was the second retention of KKR as the franchise have retained both their star campaigners from the Caribbean.
Rinku Singh and Varun Chakravarthy are the two Indian players while pacer Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy are the two uncapped players in the six-member retention.
