Bengaluru: British Royal couple King Charles and Queen Camilla were on a three-day secret visit to Bengaluru where they stayed at a sprawling ayurvedic medical facility, media reports said on Wednesday.
The holistic health center where the couple stayed during their three-day visit is renowned for its rejuvenating treatments, including yoga, meditation sessions, and therapeutic services.
Having visited the facility on previous occasions, the couple engaged in various wellness treatments, including Ayurveda and Naturopathy, and began each morning with yoga sessions, news agency PTI reported.
Why King Charles visited Bengaluru
Charles and Camilla were on a curated diet as part of their wellness treatment at the facility. During their stay, they were given rejuvenation treatment, which included therapies and meditation. The couple also went on walks around the 30-acre campus which also houses an organic farm that they visited, the report said.
The Royals stayed at the wellness centre for three days left on Wednesday morning. Notably, this was not the King’s first visit to the ‘SOUKYA’ International Holistic Centre at Samethanahalli, near Whitefield.
King Charles celebrated his 71st birthday here in 2019. The facility is managed by Dr Issac Mathai, one of the few Indians invited to his coronation as the UK’s monarch.
A longstanding advocate for Ayurveda, Charles joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi at London’s Science Museum in April 2018 to inaugurate a new Ayurvedic Centre of Excellence, aimed at establishing a global network for evidence-based research in yoga and Ayurveda.
