Kangana Ranaut appeals tourists to not visit Himachal Pradesh in view of cloudburst-VIDEO

New Delhi: Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut has appealed tourists to not visit Himachal Pradesh in view of cloudburst in Shimla, Mandi and Kullu. The actor-turned politician said she has talked to Mandi Collector and sought a report about cloudburst in her constituency Mandi.

She said there are forecast that further rains and cloudburst may lash Himachal Pradesh. Kangana Ranaut also said she too has been advised to avoid travelling to Himachal until the situation gets normal.

Kangana Ranaut has also asked local people not to come out of their homes unless necessary. She said that overall the situation in the affected areas is worrisome as Red and Orange alerts have been issued in some areas.

At least 40 missing in Himachal cloudburst

The Mandi MP also said that at least 40 people are missing or swept away in hevay river flow and authorities are working round the clock to trace them.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also taken a briefing about the situation in Himachal Pradesh and talked to the Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhhu.

Two deaths so far

So far, two people have been reported dead after the massive cloudburst hit Shimla, Mandi and Kullu on Thursday morning. The water flow after cloudburst has also damaged several schools, houses and hospitals. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu has reviewd the situation and instructed authorities to make all necessary arrangements for relief and rescue.
