New Delhi: In a fatal incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur district, a 38-year-old journalist named Dilip Saini was stabbed to death late last night. Shahid Khan, a BJP leader and friend of Saini’s, was injured while triyingh to protect him, police said. Authorities said that initial findings suggest Saini was familiar with the assailants and that a dispute led to the deadly confrontation.
Khan, who is associated with the BJP’s minority wing, said, “We were eating together when Saini received a phone call. Shortly after, the attackers arrived and they began stabbing Dilip. I intervened, and they attacked me as well. Shots were fired and Dilip didn’t survive,” Khan said.
