Hyderabad: The Mokila police on Sunday issued a notice to Raj Pakala, the brother-in-law of BRS leader KT Rama Rao and asked him to appear before them at 11 am on Monday, October 28.
He was also asked to submit evidence related to the case along with address proof and that failure to attend questioning will lead to arrest under Section 35(3),(4),(5),(6) of BNS.
Case background:
In an early morning raid on Sunday, Narsingi Police, SOT, and Excise officials targeted a farmhouse in Janwada under the jurisdiction of Mokila Police Station, on information of a rave party being held there.
There were 35 attendees—21 men and 14 women—participating in a party where unauthorized liquor was reportedly being served. Authorities discovered seven bottles of foreign liquor totaling 10.5 liters and ten loose Indian liquor bottles. The organizers lacked an excise license for the alcohol, in violation of excise laws.
A case has been registered under various sections of the Gaming Act along with the NDPS Act. Officials included Raj Pakala as A1 and Vijay Madduri as A2, who tested positive for cocaine. Madduri claimed that he had not consumed any illegal substances.
Spat between BRS, Congress:
Accusations and counter-accusations were exchanged between Congress and BRS leaders while BJP demanded to find out the facts. KTR and Harish Rao said that it was a politically motivated ploy to spread bad publicity and file cases on an ordinary family gathering on the occasion of Diwali.
