Poonch: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) spread hate and violence in India. Addressing a rally in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, the Congress leader said that they create divisions among castes, religions, and languages wherever they go.
The Union Territory will go to the second phase of polling on September 25, while the third and final phase of the polling will be held on October 1. The results of the Assembly elections will be declared on October 5.
‘Hatred can be overcome with love’
In his speech, the former Congress president added hatred can only be overcome with love. He added that while one side is spreading hatred across the country, the other side is spreading love. Addressing the rally further, Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress will work together to bring everyone and provide rights to everyone.
The Rae Bareli MP further added that he was ready to do any work instructed by the people of Jammu and Kashmir and ready to raise their issues in Parliament. Pointing out that the Opposition has gained strength in Parliament after the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi further observed PM Narendra Modi has lost his confidence, which is “evident from his face”.
Rahul Gandhi’s dig at Centre
The Congress leader further observed that the INDIA bloc did not encourage any kind of hatred or violence, but countered the BJP with compassion. Taking a dig at the Centre, Rahul Gandhi said that while Union Territories were made states in the past, it was the first time when Union Territory was divided into two Union Territories in 2019.
