New Delhi: In a continued commitment to elevate road safety standards across India, Tata Motors and TV9 Network are steering a powerful campaign titled ‘Trucking Into The Future – Safer Always’. This unique initiative focuses equally on human and technological facets to address one of the most pressing issues in India’s transport ecosystem—truck safety.
After the impactful debut in Nagpur, the second leg of the Road Safety Summit took place in Jaipur, bringing together prominent voices from the trucking and logistics industry. The event served as a powerful platform for dialogue, recognition, and vision, aiming to strengthen the very foundation of India’s transport economy—its truck drivers and transporters.
The Jaipur Chapter: Recognition, Reflection & Roadmaps
Truck safety is not just a regulatory issue—it’s an economic and humanitarian one. One mishap on the road can cost a driver his livelihood and impact countless dependent businesses. In this context, the Tata Motors–TV9 Network collaboration is both timely and vital. The summit brought to light that road safety is a shared responsibility—governments, fleet operators, manufacturers, and drivers must all play their part.
Alongside meaningful discussions, Tata Motors showcased its newest line of technologically advanced, safety-first trucks, giving attendees a glimpse into the future of secure logistics. But while innovation in hardware is critical, the summit underlined an even more important truth: a well-trained, alert, and healthy driver remains the most valuable safety feature of any vehicle.
The Jaipur edition of the summit welcomed esteemed dignitaries including, Shri Jawahar Singh Bedam, Minister of State for Home & Animal Husbandry, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Jogeshwar Garg, Cabinet Minister, Rajasthan Assembly, Shri Krishan Kumar Vishnoi, Minister for Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship of Rajasthan and Shri. Yogesh Dadhichi Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Rajasthan among many.
Shri Krishna Kumar Vishnoi, Minister of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship Rajasthan Government also took to the stage to share his insights on road safety. Firstly he talked about the FASTag achievement of the government, of how in a short span of time the concept was implemented in a country as large as India. He then talked about implementing proper regulations along the tolls situated in National Highways, especially for trucks. Technology can be included in aid of this, which can save many lives.
These distinguished dignitaries not only lent their voices to the critical discussions around the challenges, impact, and urgent need for road safety, especially for truck drivers, they also took the opportunity to felicitate Jaipur’s leading fleet owners, celebrating their pivotal role in driving India forward, one safe mile at a time.
Minister Jawahar Singh Bedam noted that infrastructure and vehicle improvements are being designed with safety in mind, and praised Tata Motors and TV9 Network for their proactive initiative.
Jogeshwar Garg added a crucial dimension: “Even with impressive vehicles and roads, we have not seen enough progress in driver training and management. Technology alone won’t solve the problem—people must be the focus.”
The event also included an exclusive fireside chat with Shubhranshu Singh, Chief Marketing Officer of Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, where he shared key insights from the campaign, its impact, and his vision for the future of safe and sustainable trucking.
Shubhranshu Singh emphasized the human factor: “Modern vehicles offer exceptional features, but ultimately, it’s the driver who carries the nation forward. His fatigue, focus, and well-being define safety on our roads.”
An insightful panel discussion also took place in the event, where key stakeholders related to Road Safety come together to talk on how best to deal with the problems that the industry as a whole faces. The panel featured Hanuman Choudhary and Founder, CTC (Choudhary Transport Company), Virendra Singh, Owner, Virendra Singh Rathod Transports. It also saw the inclusion of Alok Agarwal, PAPAL and Arpit Patni, Director, Prem Cargo Movers.
In the panel discussion several key points were raised. For example, Virendra Singh, owner of Virendra Singh Rathore Transports, shared his own approach: all new drivers undergo three months of safety training, followed by regular assessments that track speeding, braking, and handling metrics. This blend of discipline and data ensures safety isn’t left to chance.
Alok Agarwal, PAPAL also talked about the latest development in the field, for example, the addition of EBS braking systems. “Technology is improving day by day and its benefits are being received by everyone”, he added. Arpit Patni, Director, Prem Cargo Movers also shared his insights, when he said, “Driver behaviour is being checked in our company, with parameters like harsh braking, overspeeding and whether the driver receives ample rest being things that are monitored on the daily. Repeated offenders are sent serious warning.” This though is now being able to do through newer technologies also, he added.
The Jaipur summit sent a clear message: road safety is not a checkbox, but a continuous effort. While advances in truck design and infrastructure are promising, they must be matched with consistent investment in driver well-being and training. It’s a dual approach—where technology and humanity move forward, together.
As Tata Motors and TV9 Network prepare for the next chapters of this nationwide initiative, one thing is clear: the road to a safer future is being paved one mindful, trained, and empowered driver at a time.
