Jaipur: Duty comes first, this motto was apparently adhered to religiously by a commercial pilot at the Jaipur airport on Thursday after a video of him riding on a luggage trolley to wade through the inundated entrance to the airport went viral amid monsoon mayhem in the city and several other parts of north India.
The city was lashed by heavy rainfall on Thursday, causing waterlogging in many low-lying areas of the Rajasthan capital, including the Jaipur International Airport leading to flight delays and travellers stranded.
Amid the rainfall, a video of a pilot attempting to enter Jaipur International Airport (JIA) went viral on social media. The clip shows the pilot navigating a water-filled path with the help of a trolley.
“This is Jaipur Adani Airport. Here, pilots fly even before boarding a flight… the trolley itself is enough to fly,” wrote X user Veena Jain while sharing the video.
