New Delhi: An IndiGo flight made an emergency landing in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur on Thursday. The flight, which was travelling from Nagpur to Kolkata, received a bomb threat.
As a precaution, an emergency landing had to be conducted. Following the bomb threat, the decision was made to land the aircraft at Raipur Airport for security reasons.
Acting on the threat perception, security was tightened at the airport, and a bomb disposal squad was immediately called in.
Passengers were safely evacuated, and the aircraft was promptly cleared. All passengers on the flight are safe. As a result of the bomb threat incident, flights at Raipur Airport were affected for a short period.
The plane is being checked at the airport and further probe is underway, said Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Kirtan Rathore.
