New Delhi: A IndiGo flight from Jaipur to Mumbai landed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on Monday under complete emergency conditions due to a bomb threat, as per reports. The flight arrived in Mumbai at around 8:50 pm and the aircraft was subsequently taken to a remote bay for a meticulous checkup in accordance with the security protocols.
According to a report by news agency PTI, a police official mentioned that there were 225 passengers on the flight apart from the crew members onboarded with the aircraft. However, nothing suspicious was found in the search thus far.
“A full emergency was declared for IndiGo flight 6E 5324 from Jaipur to Mumbai of April 7 due to a bomb threat,” said a source, as quoted by PTI.
A note about the ‘bomb threat’ was kept inside the rear lavatory of the aircraft, as per the police official. The official also mentioned that the message written on the note was: ‘A bomb is waiting for you, not a joke’.
While issuing a statement on the matter, CSMIA said that the note was found on the flight from Jaipur to Mumbai. A full emergency was declared at the airport at 8:43 PM to ensure the safety of the passengers, and the flight reached the airport at 8:50 PM. Despite the emergency, no other airport operations were impacted.
