Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu government is planning something big for Cricket in Coimbatore as the state sports department has floated tenders for the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of the world’s largest cricket stadium on a 200-acre plot near Neelambur bypass on National Highway 544.

The stadium will not be just the biggest in the country but will be a hub for cricket with an indoor practice zone, specialist indoor fielding zone, high-performance center, pitch curation training, lecture theatres, 5-star lounge and viewing deck, restaurant, fitness centers, clubhouse, bar and more.
“The state plans to build the world’s largest cricket stadium 16 km from Coimbatore on NH 544. Tenders for the DPR have been out. 198 acres of land from the State Prisons Department’s 200-acre site will be acquired. according to officials.
