However, recent changes have been implemented, restricting the quantity of goods a soldier can purchase per month. Despite these limitations, CSD canteens remain a valuable resource for the soldiers, catering to various needs from grocery items, kitchen appliances, electronics, to liquor and automobiles.
Foreign goods are also available, making it a convenient and cost-effective option for the Indian Army personnel. With a total of 33 Army Canteen Depots and approximately 3700 Unit Run Canteens across the country, soldiers can still benefit from subsidized prices and find essential items at the CSD.
