Mhow: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that India had not been very lucky on security front. He also called upon security personnel to keep a close watch on internal as well as external enemies.
Addressing the security personnel at Mhow Cantonment in the Indore district of Madhya Pradesh, the defense minister observed that India’s western and northern borders constantly face challenges.
India will become a self-reliant country by 2047: Rajnath Singh
Pointing out that enemies of the country are always active, the minister added that in such a situation, every activity of the enemy is closely monitored and strict steps are needed to be taken against them. During his interactions with security personnel, the minister expressed confidence that India will become a developed and self-reliant country by 2047. Hailing the role of army personnel, Rajnath Singh further observed that the country’s borders are safe and strong due to their hard work and commitment to the government.
Earlier on Sunday, Rajnath Singh visited the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering and Infantry School, the premier training institute Army War College (AWS), and the Infantry Museum and Army Marksmanship Unit at Mhow Cantonment, 25 km from Indore.
During the visit, the minister was briefed by the acting commandant on the establishment of the advanced incubation and research center and related matters. He also visited the Army’s Shooting Unit to see their contribution towards national sports. Apart from these, he also visited the Infantry Museum, where he was briefed about the history of the infantry as well as the induction of modern equipment in the infantry.
Rajnath Singh along with Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi also paid floral tribute at the memorial of Dr BR Ambedkar in Mhow. The memorial of Ambedkar has been built at his birthplace in the Kali Paltan area of Mhow Cantonment.
