New Delhi: The first day of the opening match between India and New Zealand was abandoned due to the persistent rain at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday, 16 October. The prediction for the day was gloomy and unfortunately, it proved accurate.
The continuous rain at the venue prevented even the toss from taking place, with covers remaining on the field for a full day. After tea, the match officials decided to call off the play around 2:30 PM IST as rain continued to fall. After defeating Bangladesh by 2-0, the Men in Blue will look to win this Test match in the remaining four days to extend their winning run at home.
