Dehradun: Uttarakhand government will intensify its efforts to increase the carrying capacity of the four shrines- Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri- in view of the development of the infrastructure facilities there. The government has set a deadline as January 30, 2025, for the constitution of the Yatra Authority.
Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who held a high-level meeting at his official residence in Dehradun on Friday, directed the officials to ensure proper arrangement of the Char Dham Yatra-2025. “Full preparations should be made from now onwards,” he told the officials.
Take suggestions from the priests of Char Dham and stakeholders
He also directed the officials to take suggestions from the priests of Char Dham as well as all the stakeholders before January 15, 2025, by holding a meeting with them. Priests and stakeholders will also make their suggestions to improve the Yatra management. He has set the deadline as January 30, 2025, for the constitution of the Yatra authority. The proposed Yatra authority is supposed to play a major role in the management of the Char Dham yatra from next year.
Better use of digital technology to strengthen Yatra registration system
CM Dhami also gave his focus on better use of digital technology to further strengthen the yatra registration system. He asked the officials that Char Dham Yatra is a matter of the state’s pride. He directed them to make preparation for the Char Dham Yatra-2025 in advance by keeping in mind the availability of all kinds of facilities for the pilgrims like traffic management, development of infrastructure, the carrying capacity of the Dhams, and various arrangements on the Yatra routes.
Better plan for the management of the Yatra-2025
Referring to the arrival of a high number of devotees for the Char Dham Yatra, CM Dhami gave emphasis on working out a plan for better management of the Yatra-2025. He also drew the attention of the officials to make adequate parking arrangements on the Chardham Yatra routes. He expected them to pay full attention to hotels, drinking water, toilets, cleanliness, and all other basic needs.
CM Dhami also directed the officials to continue their efforts to improve the yatra arrangements at the four winters seats of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.
A presentation was given at the meeting
At the meeting, Prof. Dheeraj Sharma, Director of Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak, gave a presentation highlighting the major difficulties faced during the Chardham Yatra in the past years and required measures to solve them. He gave information on strengthening the traffic management and registration system during the Chardham Yatra.
