New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted isolated heavy rainfall in parts of Maharashtra and Kerala during the week. Releasing the statement, the department said similar weather conditions may prevail over Arunachal Pradesh on October 12, and several areas of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikanal till October 16.
According to it, Andaman and Nicobar may also receive isolated heavy rainfall on October 13, while parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are also likely to receive isolated heavy rainfall on October 14 and October 15.
The weather department has also predicted fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall in several areas of Lakshadweep, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and Maharashtra during the coming week. Apart from these areas, parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh Rayalaseema, North Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal may also witness widespread to moderate rainfall during the same period.
Light to moderate rainfall in these areas
This apart, some parts of Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh are likely to experience fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall in the next two days. Isolated to scattered to moderate rainfall may also be witnessed in Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, and Mizoram during the week.
Gujarat and Goa may witness light to moderate rainfall
Moving to the western part of the country, Konkan & Goa, Gujarat may witness scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall in the next three days. These areas may also witness isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall during the subsequent four days and isolated to scattered light to moderate rain over the remaining region during the week. Parts of Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat may also witness isolated heavy rainfall very likely on October 12—however, no significant rainfall is likely over these regions during the week in northwest and Central India.
