New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) heavy to very heavy rain in several parts of the country in the next few days. As per the weather department, the isolated very heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Maharashtra and Vidarbha for two days. It was predicted heavy rains in Maharashtra for the next seven days
Issuing a press release, the IMD said that while parts of Maharashtra may witness isolated very heavy rainfall on September 8 and September 9, Vidarbha may experience the same on September 12. It also said that while Madhya Pradesh may witness isolated heavy rain for the next seven days, Chhattisgarh, Konkan, and Goa may also experience heavy rains till September 12, some parts of Maharashtra till September 10, and Marathwada till September 12 and September 13.
IMD predicts light to moderate rainfall in parts of Coastal Karnataka, Kerala
The IMD further said that fairly widespread to widespread light/moderate rainfall is expected over parts of Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Maharashtra in the next week. It added that scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall is likely in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana, and Lakshadweep. According to the IMD, isolated to scattered rainfall can also be seen in parts of Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, and Interior Karnataka during the same period. “Isolated hefty rainfall very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on 08th September,” it said.
Moderate to light rainfall expected in parts of the Northeast: IMD
Sharing its forecast on east and northeast parts of the country, the IMD predicted fairly widespread to widespread light/moderate rainfall in several parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Andaman & Nicobar Islands during the next seven days. “Isolated hefty rainfall very likely over Odisha during 08th -10th; Assam & Meghalaya during 10th -12th; Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on 10th & 11th September,” the press release said.
