New Delhi: India is set to experience varied weather over the coming week, with several regions predicted to receive rainfall while others may see drier conditions and rising temperatures. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), parts of the country will witness widespread light to moderate rainfall, with some areas bracing for heavy downpours.
Rainfall is expected to intensify in specific areas, including parts of Central, East, and Northeast India, as well as in the southern peninsular regions. Meanwhile, Northwest India, especially West Rajasthan, is likely to remain mostly dry throughout the week.
Weather forecast for Central India
Over the next three days, Central India will see isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall. Later in the week, the rain will become more widespread.
Heavier rainfall is predicted in Chhattisgarh from September 23 to 26, Vidarbha and East Madhya Pradesh from September 24 to 26, and in West Madhya Pradesh on September 25 and 26.
Weather forecast for East and Northeast India
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are likely to experience widespread light to moderate rainfall throughout the week. Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal will have scattered rainfall, with isolated showers over Bihar, Jharkhand, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim for the next five days.
Heavy rainfall is expected in Odisha from September 22 to 24, and in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from September 22 to 26. Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh will see heavier rains between September 23 and 26.
How will the weather be in Northwest India?
Northwest India will experience isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall. However, West Rajasthan is expected to stay dry throughout the week.
Forecast for West and South Peninsular India
Isolated to scattered rainfall will continue for the next four days, followed by widespread showers. Heavy rainfall is expected in Telangana on September 21, and in parts of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka between September 24 and 26. Higher-than-normal temperatures will be seen in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry over the next three days.
