In the South, Kerala and parts of Karnataka will experience widespread rainfall, including isolated heavy showers. Meanwhile, Northeast India will see moderate to heavy rains in regions like Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. The central and northern parts of the country are expected to stay relatively dry, with no significant rainfall activity anticipated.
Forecast for South Peninsular India
South Peninsular India is expected to receive widespread light to moderate rainfall this week. Kerala and Mahe will see isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall on October 9, followed by heavy rains throughout the week.
Lakshadweep will experience very heavy rainfall on October 9. Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, and Telangana are likely to get scattered rainfall, with heavy rain over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on October 9.
Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are forecasted to witness heavy rainfall throughout the week. Coastal Karnataka will experience heavy rain on October 9, while South Interior Karnataka can expect heavy rainfall on October 9 and October 11.
Forecast for Northeast India
The Northeast is also set to receive light to moderate rainfall this week. Isolated heavy rainfall is predicted in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya from October 9 to 11. States like Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura will also experience heavy rainfall on October 9.

According to IMD, no significant rainfall over Northwest, West, East, and Central India for the next week. These regions are expected to remain relatively dry, with clear skies likely to prevail in most parts.
