₹1 Crore+ Annual Packages for 16 Engineers
In the latest placement round at IIT Bombay, 1845 students participated, with 1516 graduates receiving job offers. The majority of these positions were in engineering and tech sectors, though the information technology (IT) and software sector experienced a slowdown in hiring compared to the previous year. Over 88 companies extended IT/software job offers to approximately 302 students. Additionally, hiring took place in trading, banking, fintech, education, and design sectors.
Despite recent success, IIT Bombay slipped one spot in the National Institutional Ranking Framework for 2023, which was announced in June. It’s noteworthy that the institute received an anonymous donation of ₹160 crore the previous month. This follows a significant donation of ₹315 crore by Infosys co-founder and IIT Bombay alumnus Nandan Nilekani to commemorate the institute’s 50th anniversary.
