New Delhi: Sharing how he grappled with his personal financial struggles while facing corruption charges, former Delhi deputy chief minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that he had to implore for help to pay his son’s fees.
He pointed out that in 2002, when he was a journalist, he bought a flat for Rs 5 lakh, but it was seized. He claimed he had Rs 10 lakh in his account, which was confiscated as well. “I had to beg for help to pay my son’s fees, explaining that the ED had frozen my bank account,” he said.
Sisodia was addressing a Janta Ki Adalat at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Sunday.
The AAP leader also claimed that there were several attempts to make him go against former Delhi chief minister and party chief Arvind Kejriwal after his arrest in a graft case in connection with the alleged excise policy scam.
In a post on X, Sisodia suggested that opposition members tried to tell him that Kejriwal had framed him in the case. “When we did not do anything wrong, why would he take my name?” he asked.
This remark followed Kejriwal’s announcement that he would not return as chief minister until the people of Delhi judge him “honest” by voting for him in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Drawing a parallel with two legendary figures, he pointed out, “You are trying to separate Lakshman from Rama… No Ravana can ever separate Lakshman from Rama.”
@msisodia #जनता_की_अदालत_में_केजरीवाल pic.twitter.com/bt9RYutqfu

Sisodia said, “AAP leaders were put behind bars so that the work of the people of Delhi was hindered and our government and party was destabilised. But neither our party has broken nor our government has fallen.” “We are soldiers of @ArvindKejriwal Ji and stand firmly with him,” he announced.
