Hyundai has showcased the Initium Hydrogen Concept which features Hyundai’s new “Art Of Steel” design language. This is going to be the upcoming design philosophy for future Hyundai cars. The Initium Hydrogen concept will eventually become a reality and a production model will make its way in 2025.
According to Hyundai, the Initium will be able to go 404 miles 650 kms on one full tank of hydrogen. It will have 201 bhp. This will more or less be the Hyundai Nexo replacement. It looks like it will be the size of a mid-sized crossover but also carry a little bit of off-road credentials.
The design is fresh. It carries a boxy shape which is also somehow very retro. There are a lot of cubic details and the “+” symbol is pretty apparent. The C-pillar however looks like something which comes right out of Pontiac books which was seen back on the Aztek, but we have seen this design on some Kia models as well.
The wheels are the same aero style wheels which we have seen on may other EV vehicles. Hyundai has also given it some off-road credentials and it has quite wide fender flares and a purposeful looking roof rack as well. Hyundai has been rolling out off-road models of many of its variants and we can expect some new products which are highly capable off-road machines.
Other details like the interior and technical specifications have not been revealed yet but Hyundai says that there are going to be ample space inside the cabin. The Hyundai Initium Hydrogen Concept will be displayed at the Los Angeles Auto Show and Auto Guangzhou in November.
